My name is Erin Mathie and I am the owner of Academic Advancement In-Home Tutoring LLC.  I have always had a love for children and teaching.  I graduated from SUU with a degree in biology, chemistry, and a teaching certificate in 2002.  After graduating, I taught at Browning Academy and North Layton Junior High.  I have also tutored for a major learning center and Learning Link. 

While I was teaching, I saw the desperate need that some students had to fill in the gaps in their education.  I wished that I had the time and opportunity to spend more one on one time with each student to meet their individual needs.  It was then that I began to dream about starting my own tutoring company to provide customized education for the students that I love. 

After starting a family, I wanted to stay home with my children but did not want to leave the educational system.  Watching students grow had become a part of me that I could not let go of.  I knew that starting my own tutoring company would be a great way to help kids, parents and my fellow teachers.  It has been rewarding to see the huge impact that highly trained teachers can have on students that they are devoted to.  It has also been a joy to support the class room teachers.  We pride ourselves on working with the school system to close the gap between homework and school.  Academic Advancement In-Home Tutoring LLC now has many tutors providing tailored tutoring for students through out Utah County and South Salt Lake.
